A question about my forearm muscles?

So the problem I'm having revolves around my forearms and the way the muscle has developed on them due to a condition I had a few years ago. I had ended up taking a medication that caused me to bloat severely pretty much everywhere, including my arms and forearms, but it was during this time that I was working professionally as a line cook. For those of you that have seen any cooking reality show ever, you can imagine how doing that for 11 hours a day 6 a week could cause your body to build up muscle in strange ways. Well mine did and my forearms took the brunt of the build, forming in weird twisting ropes around my arm that have completely deformed the shape, size, and proportions of just my forearms and almost nothing else. Needless to say it looks a bit off, sort of orangutan-ish, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to help me get rid of them and back down to my bony old arms of youth? Theoretically I guess I could just not eat protein and do no heavy lifting for a few months, but there has to be a healthier way right?

I sometimes feel that America--the US is so racially charged it's like a bomb ready to go off and blow your great nation apart. It was (and still very much is) black vs white..and now everyone vs mexican. Before that it was Native Americans against Europeans. What I really don't understand is how the people that came over from Europe and just took over the land can now say that it isn't right for someone else to do the same? It was never right for anybody to do that..but surely we have learned to be tolerant of others..or have we? I don't mean to sound like I don't think the US is a great place...but I really worry about the rampant racism that is so obvious on these sites. Is that the way it is in reality? Well, I don't know what country you live in or how close to the US you live, but I've played with a lot of Canadians over the years. They travel 3 hours to get to the US and play on teams that get exposure to American college coaches through tournaments. If you can't do that (it's a HUGE commitment) then I recommend sending videos to colleges you're interested of you playing. The coaches emails' are available on the websites and they can check them out. Normally they travel to see the players, but again, I'm not sure how far away you are from the US. I don't know of many teams that take girls from other countries simply because so many American girls they see play well, but if you really want to do it, go for it!

Swollen outer corner of left eyelid?

Hello everyone :) Well... I woke up yesterday (Monday) morning with a sore pain on the outer corner of my left eyelid on top. It just started out as an annoying pain but then today it has gotten worse. My left eyelid near the outer corner is now swollen & pinkish red, sore to the touch, hurts when I move my eye to look around or blink. Why would it be doing this randomly??? I've never ever had a sty or pink eye and I haven't ate anything or done anything out of the ordinary so I doubt it's an allergic reaction to something. The pain is just getting so annoying and my upper eyelid is getting so swollen that it looks like its drooping just slightly over my upper lashes, but not enough to interfere with my vision. Oh and I'm not having any other problems with my eyes like vision, I don't wear gles or contacts, and I'm not sick or anything at the moment..... this eye thing is all! I just wanna know what it could be or could it be reason to see a doc!!!?

Huge Family problems - living with inlaws?

There had to be some reason. Even if it doesn't make sense to you, figure out their reasons and don't do those things. If you move back in, then you and your husband should make a plan to avoid the family completely. Then they can't get mad, and you won't have fights. Spend a lot of time outside the home. Come home by curfew though. Also make a plan for if they start to get mad. For example, don't get mad back, just say 'sorry', close your mouth and walk away to your room. Follow their rules. Have your fun within the rules. Vent to each other when the family can't hear, punch a pillow, write in a diary. Work hard, get a second job, earn money, move out. Wow, I'm sorry you are in so much pain. I don't think I have a good answer for you, but I want to relate to you my friend's experience. She was having a variety of symptoms (I don't remember the details), but pain was definitely a problem. She was even having trouble walking b/c the pain was so bad. She tried to lift weights during this period and experienced shooting pains. She was constantly sleeping and exhausted. She saw something like 20 doctors and none of them could provide any answers, though some told her she was a hypochondriac. Finally she saw an endocrinologist, who on a whim, gave her a test for a vitamin D deficiency. It turned out that she had a very severe deficiency, which was not b/c of inadequate intake of the vitamin. Her body was only able to absorb a tiny amount (inadequate). When the doc put her on super levels of the vitamin, all of her symptoms disappeared. Some other vitamins such as calcium cannot be absorbed without the presence of vit D, so I'm sure there was secondary deficiencies. Maybe you can get a detailed blood test that looks at your vitamins/minerals. Also, hormone deficiencies can absolutely wreak havoc (including mysterious pain). An endocrinologist would be able to ID hormone imbalances. I hope you find this info useful and I hope you feel better soon!

My brother is psycho. He still lives at home even though hes 24 and acts like a complete jerk. He eats all our food and terrorizes me in front of my friends. I will say that if you plan to run long distance be prepared to go through some digging in deep. It is hard, and especially if you are out of shape. I suggest to prepare for this. Run daily. every other day run 400meters in 2 sets of 3. Attempt to make it under 2 minutes each time, and as you improve lower the time you complete them in, the days you don't do that run for 30 minutes straight no breaks. Attempt to keep a comfortably hard pace. Hard enough as to where you cannot speak, but not hard enough to burn you out. after about 2 weeks of this I think you will be prepared for it. And remember don't give up!

If you don't escape now, it will be harder later.

Looking for a job on craigslist may help but I ended going back to school in california because I didnt like Maine. Going back to school allows you to take out more student loans but it will help relocation. I am originally from MN, and California is my dream state. Electric guitar - buzzing when playing a string?

I have recently purchased an electric guitar and have been learning for the past 2-3 days. I've gotten to the point where I can play the intro to the rock n roll riff, but when I press a string (mainly the thicker ones such as 6 and 5), I hear a buzzing sound like the string is slightly touching the next fret over. What could the reason be? Am I pressing the string incorrectly, am I pressing too hard or too soft (mainly happens when I use my pinky finger, but has happened with other fingers also), are the strings too high or too low, or could it be that it is out of tune (I'm pretty tone deaf, so I think the tuning might be far from perfect)? Please let me know if any of these are possible reasons or there is another reason why it might be doing this. I just want to add that when I press string 4 it sounds awesome, I get a nice clean tone, but with the others I get a tone and a buzz. Thank you!

Clomid and one fallopian tube?

This is my first cycle of Clomid 50mg and we are trying for our second baby. I had no problems getting pregnant with our 1st child and when we started trying again for our 2nd child (18 months ago) I fell pregnant pretty quickly but found out it was ectopic and had to have surgery to remove it. My right fallopian was also removed. It was a heartbreaking experience and something I don't ever want to go through again. Anyway, since my surgery my periods have been very irregular and very hard to predict so after 12 months of trying and getting nowhere my gyno has prescribed Clomid. I had my left tube checked and I've been told that it's open and free from scarring and blockages. What are the chances that I'll conceive with one tube and Clomid? I'm only allowed to take it for 6 cycles so does that mean (because I only have one tube) that I only have 3 chances of getting pregnant? I'm really worried that it isn't going to work and that we are going to be told to take the IVF route which we just can't afford. Is there anyone here who has gotten pregnant with one fallopian tube or knows someone who has? Or anyone who has gotten pregnant on Clomid and have any tips/ advice for me? I really want to make this happen and give my son the brother or sister he deserves. Thank you in advance x

At my work, we are having an argument about a lightbox solution. I am in favor of having the html / image / flash displayed in a div, without the need for an iframe, as this adds overhead with re-downloading css / javascript (which is required if it is to maintain same styles and functionality). The benefit of displaying in-line in a div is these scripts and styles don't need to reload. The guy I am arguing with thinks it doesn't matter. In addition to this, there are some slight UI issues with the lightbox solution, which also don't seem to matter to him. Just wanting to know what people believe is best practice. It also seems as if many jQuery lightbox solutions lean towards iFrames, so am I off the mark?

Headhunt... is right on. In simple terms 00 buckshot is what you need for home defense. It comes in different pellet numbers. 00 buck is basically just round bb's stuffed in a shotgun load and it will tell you how many pellets (bb's) are in that load. The higher the br on a shell, the more powder it has, thusfore having more umph and it's measured in "Dram" I think. 8 shot is a light load (quail, dove etc..), 6 shot with high br (more power and bigger pellet size, but fewer pellets in the load) is a good pheasant load. 4 shot for maybe ducks or close in geese. Then they make BB, TT and all kinds of different stuff that are mainly used for geese or turkey. Usually the only time guys use steel shot is when they are shooting over water. Lead shot in water= not so good for the fish. Slugs are used for deer. They are not like all the other loads described above. A slug is a single "bullet" that is stuffed in the same size shotgun shell. They make copper, lead, etc... It really just depends on personal preference as to what to use. Deer slugs usually have FPS listed on the box. FPS= feet per second. 3 inch slugh generally flies faster than a 2 3/4 (more powder in a 3). Hopefully that helps a little. I didn't list every load that they make, I was just trying to give you the general idea. Hope that helps a little.

I am trilingual somewhat again. I now only prefer to use English, Japanese, and German and I studied German before I started studying Japanese and I've been speaking English forever as my primary language. German is one of the easiest. It's slightly harder than English but easier than Japanese because a lot of German words sound like English like Essen, gleich, Abend, Hund, schlagen, schlafen, etc. don't feel like telling you all the German words if you haven't taken it already because that'll spoil the fun of what words you'll run across but a lot of words from English are unchanged from German like Gras and sing but you get the point. Japanese sounds a bit different and a lot of words can roll off the tongue, Katakana words like アストロノミ (asutoronami) and アストロナマア (asutoronamaa) which are also my favorite subjects in school even which mean astronomy and astronomer respectively and スペイン語 as well (supeingo) which means Spanish language in Japanese and Hiragana words like のど (nodo) meaning thirsty, I guess. I saw its Kanji and this is exactly what it looks like: 喉 so I have a feeling nodo means thirsty. Also not only that in Japanese unlike English, German, and Spanish for example you can give one word responses because you don't have to use pronouns. To say "it spoke" for example all it takes is 1 word and the word is only "しゃべた" not sure how it's spelled because it's not an every day word and is pronounced shabeta. In German you have to say "Es gespricht" to say "It spoke" and just in English, it's "It spoke." But in Spanish you have to include more than just 1 word in there which is what I hate about that hard language. I couldn't even get an A in Spanish grammar because it was so difficult that I couldn't master it and I had no history with the language of Spanish and when I was in Charter School, I didn't know that foreign language was required so I refused to take it as an elective and then they told me and I struggled with Spanish. For Japanese, I could've sworn that I was dreaming one night of one day when we were coming to my grandmother's and grandfather's house and everyone was speaking Japanese but I don't remember what was said because I didn't understand Japanese back then. Is that because I thought we just speak random Japanese or because of random Japanese speakers or was that a coincidence because they are located near San Francisco? Hmm. That's a good question and a good discussion with family about it can bring up good memories of whether this was possible that it happened or not. If not, I'd just forget about it and move on because I can speak some Japanese now. :) If I gain some Korean, I could be quatrallingual but Japanese is way easier than Korean or French because Korean has some silent letters depending on the word and French has silent letters everywhere. My French wouldn't be that good knowing that I've been studying German which never has silent letters and Japanese which only happens around the です (desu) and ます (masu) part somehow. Discuss!

Everything is well till the part where you peel off the dried skin.. it's a mistake to do that, you'll create a open wound.. may cause infection. My advise is do not go under the sun anymore till the stinging stop. Do apply lotion to calm down, moisturize and protect the skin. If skin is burning hot and dry, it's advisable to apply lotion every hour ( 2 to 3 days ).. a little inconvenient, but that the best repair method. Do not put ice directly! I find talking to friends a good way to encourage me, if your friends don't encourage you then you can also try to make yourself believe what you want to be true (which is hard as hell believe me). You have to try to remember that 1) you are more attractive than you think you are, and 2) guys want a girl just as much as girls want a guy (I can confirm this because I am a guy and I feel the same way you do). try to convince yourself that those statements are true, because they are and they will make you feel better. It's not easy but once you do that you can start to feel better about yourself.

Missing the point in the tragedy?

What difference does it make. In the grand scheme of things probably doesnt mean all that much. But instead of veiwing it as a negative (people tend to overreact to stuff) why not see it as the tough wily tough old Brian Burke being a loving and compionate man over what at one time was such a huge stigma that it would have went completely unspoken. Dont add a negative spin to what can be a step forward for the gay community by uming because it is mentioned it must be bad. There is a wonderful story behind the tough old hockey guy and his undeniable love of his son....regardless of ual orientation. Acceptance requires the removal of paranoid notions attached to any story...maybe the media could have said that the son of Brian Burke had tragically lost his life and left it at that. But that would ignore the story that has been going on recently....one that speaks of tolerance and a fathers pionate love of his child....a story that Brendan wanted to be out there and tell the world it is okay and even the guy (Brian) who is thought of in some circles as a hard *ssed tough mans man is okay with it. How can i protect my cat from being beaten up?

I have two cats at home, one short haired the other long, they are brother and sister and are fairly small farm cats. A family recently moved in down our road and they have two Bengal cats which are known for being exceptionally vicious (our vet said they have to anesthetize them before doing a routine check up). One of them repeatedly comes over to our house and attacks both of our cats which is costing us a fortune in vet bills, they have been outdoor cats for their entire lives so we are reluctant to keep them indoors in case they get out and run away due to the change. Is there any way to prevent the other cat from coming over and attacking ours? Thanks x

Travel from Philadelphia to Toronto?

I am planning to travel by car and have been given two choices. Either take Route 15 up the susquehana trail, or go via Northeast extension to rt. 80, 81, and 90 (via Syracuse). I was hoping if someone could tell me if Rt. 15 was safe for a non-white person, as I will be travelling in mid PA and I have only heard horror stories about that area. I will be going through the town of Bloomsburg, and Williamsport in PA and then to Corning, Bath in NY. 2000 pontiac sunfire, making weird noise and engine light is on....?

yesterday i hit the brakes too hard and my car would not drive i had to turn it off and then back on. now for the last two days my oil light has been on. and today I hear a weird noise comming from the hood it isnt a squeeking or a clanking. its hard to explain, the noise does not change with acceloration or anything. and now the check engine light is on. is it the oil or something worse. the oil light is red and the engine light is yellow if that helps. if its the oil will that that sound go away? please help!

This will be really nice when you take the baby for walks and stuff because he or she can continue to nap even after you get back into the house. MY PARENTS ARE CRAZY?

so lately (more like my whole life) ive been having a lot of trouble with my parents. recently, ive been applying for schools because we are moving and when i said my opinion of which school i wanted to go to the least which was one of the school they really wanted me to go to and i got accepted i got into a big argument. i was slapped like crazy for the next days and is still goin on now. whenever i bring up somethin negative my mom comes and slaps me hard. also, my sister sometimes gets into big trouble sometimes but she never gets slapped. she only gets grounded for maybe 2 days at most and I GET GROUNDED FOR WEEKS for doing the same thing. i also made a friend lately around the same time i got into the big trouble and my friend and i were planning to go to jamba juice together before he moved to irvine (we both live in newport so hes only moving like 20 miles away) because in irvine we're too far away. so my mom found out of my new friend and now she wont let me hang out with him anymore. even before he brought me to a boy scout camping trip when i was 7 years old i came back and my mom asked me if i had fun. i said that i didnt because my dad didnt let me do anything alone with my friends. WHY ARE MY PARENTS LKE THAT? i get slapped about 5 times in one week because we are so disagreeable. sometimes my parents get so mad at me that i just want to kill myself or run away but that never happens because i dont have a gun. im now 11 and my parents are still overprotective. even when i ride a scooter instead of a skateboard she makes me wear a HELMET!!!! scooters are so easy and ive never fallen on one. even on a bike i still have to wear a helmet. i understand the skateboard with a helmet thing because sometimes unpredictable things happen but a SCOOTER??? that just doesnt make sense. so back to my new friend my mom says that i cant be with him and i can only hang out with specific people and THEIR ALL NOT MY TYPE! i like sports and their all nerds. so seriousley WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY PARENTS??? I keep my mare clipped year round. She has pretty much no whiskers on her face, almost no inner ear hair, very little nose hair, bridle path clipped, mane only 2 inches long, jaw lined clipped, legs clipped short enough to apply baby powder, and face white clipped. She is stalled 24/7/365 except for when I ride and turn her out for about 3 hours. I do put a fly mask on her 24/7 to keep her eyes and ears from getting fly bites and full of dust. I leave enough hair in the ears to keep the gnat bites away but not enough to be seen. If I did not show her all year round I would not keep her clipped. However, if you are going to a show to show in a cl like showmanship you should always clip everything. It is disrespectful to the judge, the show, and the tradition of showing to do otherwise IMO. Hair will always grow back and it is never a permanent clip.

Army rangers??? How long should it take?

So for those that are coming from my question about being a medic in the army thanks for stopping by to help me on this other question...I want to be a medic in the army but not just the regular army I wanna be apart of the rangers. Either the 75th or 1st battalion is fine but how long would it take for me to be able to do that? uming that I'm coming straight out of college with a BS in nursing. After basic and AIT. Is it even possible for me to go straight to a ranger regiment??? Or would I have to be in the army for some time? If so how long? I was doing Research I did see anything about enlisted before you apply however, you most likely will have too because you need at lease 3 letter of recommendation from an Army Aviator in the rank of CW3 to CW5 or Major and above and that a minimum requirement. I don't think anyone will give you a recommendation unless you are in the military. So the would be yes you need to enlist in the military First. Having a college will definitely give you an edge.
