So I'm thinking about running track this year...?
Tryouts apply for Jv and Varisty. Although it may depend on the school. At my school we choose our own events based on our preference. I will say that if you plan to run long distance be prepared to go through some digging in deep. It is hard, and especially if you are out of shape. I suggest to prepare for this. Run daily. every other day run 400meters in 2 sets of 3. Attempt to make it under 2 minutes each time, and as you improve lower the time you complete them in, the days you don't do that run for 30 minutes straight no breaks. Attempt to keep a comfortably hard pace. Hard enough as to where you cannot speak, but not hard enough to burn you out. after about 2 weeks of this I think you will be prepared for it. And remember don't give up!
