If you fail the annual apartment inspection per HUD, don't you have 30 days to make the corrections?

We were given a notice that we are due for our annual apartment inspections. It states that if it does not p we have 48 hours to make the corrections or we will be given 30 days notice to vacate. Now in all the years that I have lived in a HUD building, it has always been 30 days to make corrections before we are re-scheduled to have the inspection done again. Has something changed that we are not aware of?
