A question about my forearm muscles?

So the problem I'm having revolves around my forearms and the way the muscle has developed on them due to a condition I had a few years ago. I had ended up taking a medication that caused me to bloat severely pretty much everywhere, including my arms and forearms, but it was during this time that I was working professionally as a line cook. For those of you that have seen any cooking reality show ever, you can imagine how doing that for 11 hours a day 6 a week could cause your body to build up muscle in strange ways. Well mine did and my forearms took the brunt of the build, forming in weird twisting ropes around my arm that have completely deformed the shape, size, and proportions of just my forearms and almost nothing else. Needless to say it looks a bit off, sort of orangutan-ish, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to help me get rid of them and back down to my bony old arms of youth? Theoretically I guess I could just not eat protein and do no heavy lifting for a few months, but there has to be a healthier way right?
