Question for Human Resources professionals...how abnormal is this?
If what you say they are doing is true, then if you file a complaint with your HR department and they do not do anything about it you could sue your place of employment. Please file a complaint. Try to get your co-workers to do the same. (this will make you look like you are telling the truth) It is your direct supervisors job to supply you with a safe and harment free work zone. If they are the problem, you have no choice but to go higher up than them. You also need to consult with an attorney that specializes in labor law. If you file a complaint you are risking losing your job, but working in a place that bad is only going to result in you having to quit because of health issues anyhow. At least if you are fired you can get unemployment until you find another job. Also, if you find that your HR department does not resolve your issue, please file a complaint with your state labor department. They will investigate and cause an immense amount of problems for the company for not taking care of their own issues with their supervisors.
