Dressage Grooming?

I have a dressage show with my new horse and I was wondering about the tail and mane. It is just a smaller schooling show at a local barn so nothing special or anything but I want make a good appearence (like most dressage riders). My horse is a Morgan X Friesian like you all probably know by now. He has a thicker neck like a Friesian and I was wondering..Should I french braid his hair like this horse's.. a href="http://www.ponycity.com/stallions/bente/index.html" rel="nofollow"http://www.ponycity.com/stallions/bente/…/a or do the traditional dressage braids? Also am I supposed to leave the tail in dressage or braid it? I have heard braiding it can make the tail look restricted which causes for retricted hind movement. Could anyone help me with this? Thanks!
