How can i play newish games well?

My graphics card pwns, its GeForce 8200 M. All the games i want to play its like the recommended spec or close. My Ram is like 2gb but it shows as like 1702mb idk y. When i play games it shows tha amazing graphics and it runs. But the ram is so low that i move like i'm teleporting. I have like 1.8ghz or something like that. Overall my graphics pwn but my speed sucks. Any way i can play games like apb reloaded, rift and stuff with my slow computer?
